Charles L. Covell
President
Charles Covell is a third generation builder and developer and is currently President of Covell Communities, LLC, a full service real estate located in Montgomery County, Maryland. His firm, active throughout the Washington Area and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, specializes in creating communities and homes in a variety of market segments including active adults, workforce housing, luxury move-up, and mixed use projects.
Prior to founding, Covell Communities, Mr. Covell was the President of Bozzuto Homes, Inc. and a partner of The Bozzuto Group, a real estate development, construction, and management firm located in Greenbelt, Maryland. Over the last twenty years, he has directed the construction and development of several thousand homes throughout the metropolitan areas as well as the creation of a variety of residential and mixed-use communities. These projects have won numerous awards and Mr. Covell has been personally recognized for his contributions to economic and community development.
Mr. Covell attended Boston University where he obtained his BSBA in Accounting and Real Estate Finance. He is an active member of the National Association of Home-Builders (NAHB), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and currently servers as a Board of Director for the Maryland National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA) and the Montgomery Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH), a non-profit organization dedicated to housing and servicing the needs of suburban Washington’s homeless community.
Mr. Covell current resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland with his wife and three children. He is avid outdoorsman and an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He has and continues to serve on a variety of governmental and industry committees and is a recognized speaker on issues of smart growth, multifamily, affordable, and senior housing.
Amy Weinberg
Office Manager
Amy Weinberg is the Business Manager of Covell Communities, LLC, responsible for the financial reporting, human resources and general office oversight. Prior to joining Covell Communities, Mrs. Weinberg was the Manager of Member Services and Education for the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA), a local chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In that role she managed all aspects of membership including recruitment, retention programs, membership reporting and database management. In addition, Mrs. Weinberg planned and implemented the Association’s educational programs and was responsible for the Quality and Safety Councils.
Before this position, Mrs. Weinberg was the Program Manager of the Home Builders Care Foundation, a non-profit community outreach arm of the MNCBIA. Mrs. Weinberg was with the MNCBIA for 14 years and subsequent to that, held other positions in public and private accounting.
Mrs. Weinberg attended The Pennsylvania State University where she received her B.A. in Accounting. She currently resides with her husband and two children in Boyds, Maryland.
Scott Coché
Operations Manager
Scott Coche currently serves as the Operations Manager of Covell Communities, LLC, directly involved in all aspects of the company. Prior to this opportunity, he oversaw the construction of hundreds of single and multi-family award winning homes in the Washington and Baltimore markets. In addition, Mr. Coché has lead many residential remodeling projects in the DC area.
Mr. Coché is involved with the Foundation for Community Betterment along with volunteering for the Montgomery County Agricultural Park. He currently resides in Montgomery County with his family.
Thomas K. Woodward
Construction Manager
Tom Woodward is directly involved in every phase of the construction of every Covell Communities home. In 1983, Tom began his construction career working for a large commercial general contractor, in his ten years in commercial construction he moved up through the ranks to the front office where he learned his superior estimating and project management skills. In 1994 Tom decided to learn the residential construction business and has been building homes ever since. He has built thousands of award winning residences ranging from entry-level condominium units to custom-built estate homes.
Since his construction career began, Tom has been recognized for his achievement in just about every facet of construction. He has received awards for Construction Superintendent of the Year, Safety Leader, Quality Construction Leader, and Highest Rated Construction Team as well as numerous other awards for construction build time, budgeting and construction management.
A lifelong Maryland resident, Tom currently resides in Chester, Maryland on Kent Island with his wife.
